  1. Download and install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Go to Settings in Chrome and create a VPN entry.
    • Connection to Name = UCI
    • Server = vpn.uci.edu
  3. Go to Settings and click on “VPN”, then select “Cisco AnyConnect” and “UCI.”

NOTE: In the near future, OIT will provide an alternate way to login to the VPN using 'SAML authentication'. Due to software limitations, Chromebook users will not be able to use the SAML VPN tunnels. You will need to continue using the standard DEFAULT-UCI or UCIFULL tunnels when connecting to the VPN.

  • Download and install Cisco AnyConnect client
  • Click 'Start' → type 'Cisco anyconnect' → select 'Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client'
  • Type wsuvpn.worcester.edu and click 'Connect'
  • Sign in with your WSU username (e.g. jsmith2) and password

  • Run the Cisco AnyConnect installer.
  • ***A pop-up window stating the package cannot be run may appear. No worries!***
  • Go to System Preferences, Security & Privacy, and click on the General tab.
  • Next, you can then select 'Run Anyway' to allow for the installer to continue running
  • Once the installer finishes, you will likely receive a notification that a System Extension was blocked
  • Click Open Security Preferences and click Allow and Allow again
  • Once Cisco AnyConnect VPN is installed..
  • Navigate to Applications->Cisco and double-click on the Cisco AnyConnect program icon
  • Type wsuvpn.worcester.edu and click 'Connect'
  • Sign in with your WSU username (e.g jsmith2) and password
